...grew up in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles. In the 60's, he started playing the Bass Guitar at the age of 15 in a band with his brother Rudy. Dennis says, "I remember going to the Battle of the Bands at East Los Angeles College and listen to band greats such as Cold Duck, The Emeralds, etc..."
In the early 70's, he hooked up with Steve Medrano and Steve Franco and formed a 3 man Power Trio called WEST WINDS. Occasionally, Ray Hernandez, who later played with BB Chung King, filled in with the band.
In the 80's Dennis joined a group called TRANSITION where the drummer then was (The Impulse Band's own) Ray Rivera. Later, after playing with the group LUGAR, he joined a band called BAUTISTA and played with them for 4 years. In 1998, Dennis was honored to play with BAUTISTA in Hawaii at the Jazz Festival.
Dennis says, "I am having a very good time playing with THE IMPULSE BAND. It's been a fun ride!"
...grew up in South Central Los Angeles and started playing music in 1975. Mike toured Alberta, Canada in 1980 with a group called BREAKING POINT.
Mike was inspired to play music by two of his good friends, Danny Ayala and Sal Maldanado who both played with a group call "LOS ANGELES". He also played with "FRENZ AND STRANGERS" among others.
Mike says, "I am now settled with The Impulse Band and not only consider my band-mates as friends, I consider them my musical family. Its been a joy ride ever since".

...has been playing drums since he was in high school. He's been in several bands; some rock and some dance bands. Ray has experimented with all types of music and with different talented musicians and now has his own technique, establishing himself as a versatile drummer.
Ray's influence was his father who was a big band musician who sang and played the guitar back in the 50's and 60's. His favorite drummers were John Bonham with LED ZEPPELIN and jazz musician Buddy Rich.
Ray's first band was with a group called ARSON. His first real working band was with TRANSITION. Later, THE IMPULSE BAND was established with Bassist Dennis Ulibarri, and they continue to play their mixed style of music to this day. His goal with this band is to keep the people happy and dancing.
Playing music has always been my main passion. Starting very young I was given a guitar and started to play then I was given a keyboard that was really a toy but I treated it like it was real. By the time I was in middle school I was playing with friends at parties and school dances and by high school I decided to never stop. I am lucky to say I have shared the stage with all the major bands we see today and even the pros from Tower of Power, War and so many more.
I was born with a guitar in my hands and played for years but now I play the keyboards and I love them. I have played with many different bands, some very good and some not so good but now I am proud to say I am part of The Impulse Band and plan to stay for a very long time. The core of the band is and is just like a family to me and it has not been this fun in a long time.
